This private residential dwelling is projected on the Adriatic Sea front, 20 km north of Zadar.
Surrounded by olive orchards and set in X m² of grounds, the project impregnates the built spaces with the serenity of the land by blending the interior with the external. This is achieved by multiple openings and entrances that transverse the building, making the spaces not only look bigger but also creating the sense that the house continues into the outside, and vice versa. This merging of the outside/inside will provide an experience of profound serenity and communion with the land.
Functionally the main arrangement is a longitudinal divide: the social-daytime spaces face the pool and the sea, while the bedrooms and functional areas are tucked behind a central dividing wall. This elegant and simple solution is also highly efficient, maximising the yield of each area.
There is a further functional divide – with the garages and service/guest area sitting on a separate pavilion – and integrated with the rest of the house by a shared roof. The separation is marked by a void that hosts a sculpture by artist X, serving as a connector between the two long sides of the villa and further reinforcing the integration with the locus.
